This very scarce CD release (once again on MCA Records) may well be of particular interest to fans of Michael Mann's TV and film work - including (interestingly enough) "Manhunter" (1986).

"How so?" - well, if you check the track names, you'll see an obscure Jan Hammer track named "Red Dragon". As it transpires, this WAS composed for Michael Mann, circa. the period where Mann was either planning, or filming MANHUNTER! As fans of the film will know "Manhunter" was the original screen adaptation of Thomas Harris' novel, "Red Dragon" (1981) - and was actually originally scheduled to be released under that moniker. The preceding box office failure of similarly named "Year of the Dragon" resulted in a hastily chosen new title - and the rest, as they say, is history..!
